DEB is a not for profit, self funding autonomous organisation. It is non-discriminatory, in that it will accept applications from conformity assessment bodies operating anywhere in the world. Accreditation programmes are accessible to all conformity assessment bodies, irrespective of size, location or affiliations, whose operations include activities for which accreditation programmes are currently available.

 

DEB offers accreditation for the following programmes :

 

Management systems certification such as quality management systems environmental management systems (AS/ NZS ISO 14001) and others:

  • Product certification
  • Personnel certification
  • Inspection
  • Greenhouse Gas validation and verification

Structure

The DEB Secretariat, located in Georgia, is the administrative arm of the Board. The Secretariat is responsible for administering the accreditation process, coordinating the technical committees associated with the accreditation programmes, providing input into national and international committees and working groups, and the development of new accreditation programmes.

 

The organization structure is broadly as follows:

Executive Director who is an impartial person and is advised by Advisory Committee, heads the Organization. The Advisory Committee is a representative of all interests and is headed by a Chief Advisor. It oversees the performance of the organization vis-à-vis the specified objectives. The Marketing operations of the Company is headed by General Manager – Marketing and its operations are handled and managed by professionally qualified personnel who have excelled in field of Marketing of Services.

 

The Technical Team is headed by General Manager- Technical and assisted by Manager (Tech.) and Documentation Officer. The above core group is assisted by a team of trained, experienced, skilled and competent lead auditors based at different locations. They are graduates and diploma holder from different streams and are capable of carrying out assigned duties in all the industrial sectors and economies.

 

Wherever necessary, we also outsource the auditing work to empanelled auditors, who are reputed in the field of their specialization. Services of Technical experts are also utilized as and when required, in their specialized fields. The organization further ensures that there is no conflict of interest between its two strategic wings i.e., marketing services and technical services, leading to certification decisions. Duties and responsibilities of all key functionaries of DAB have been defined; liability insurance is in place and adequate financial arrangements have been made to provide stability and resources, for the smooth operation of the company.
